Emily's Story

Emily, a happy and vivacious baby girl was 6 months old when she was diagnosed with ATRT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor), a very rare form of pediatric brain and spine cancer.

Emily was treated at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for 18 months.

Emily smiled through her treatment of intense chemotherapy, numerous surgeries and radiation.

She handled it all so gracefully, and her smiles proved that even though most of her life was spent in the hospital- that she loved to be with her family, having fun and playing. Emily passed away on September 5, 2016.

This cancer, which is extremely aggressive, makes up about 10% of all pediatric brain cancers.

While survival rates are poor, and treatment options are limited, there is much work being done to find better treatment options and more effective therapies.

We raise money for Emily.

We raise money for kids who have brain cancer. We raise money so families don’t have an empty seat at their dinner table, that trips to cemetery aren’t the norm, and that no child is told that they have brain cancer.

We do what we do for Emily’s Smiles.
